It's like a job: the manager is the commander while the employees are the different classes soldiers. The manager needs to know how each job under them functions if they want to be good and successful.

And even if that wasn't enough, he literally has an additional summon – the commander (or sth like that) who not only boost and heals but clearly can also coordinate the army. MC's only job is to stay back and use some range attacks, that's all.

The "Legion commander" is basically a support class/white mage that handles healing and debuff removal for each legion.
Then he has the mages and archers for long range attacks, and the warrior for close range.
Spoiler aside there is a ton of advantage to knowing the strengths and weaknesses of other classes and knowing how to counter their abilities. And for someone in charge of troops it's critical knowledge to gain the best success. As the old saying goes: "If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."

No, what I meant was that in most manhwa/manhuas of this genre, people somehow looks down on MC when they meet him and he supposedly have a higher rank than expected.
They either assume he’s bribed his way into it, or he’s got some family name to back it up, or just lucky. They are outright rude and loud about it too. In contrast, if another character had that exact same rank/position, they are depicted as someone of authority to be looked up to.

MC is currently level 25, while Yiyi is 23. The enemies they fight regularly give 100k exp each to both of them.
After 10 enemies, Yiyi levels up to 24. MC still needs 99 million exp before he gets to level. After another 100 enemies, Yiyi levels up to 25, MC is still stuck, needing 89 million more exp.
They’re now even, and will level up at the same rate from now on, with Yiyi always being 11 million exp behind. Again, these are completely made up numbers, but that’s how it will work.

xp requirements for levels increase at a geometric rate so the closer you get to each transition point the harder it is to level. There is a reason people you hit level 40 in their 30's are considered geniuses, hitting lvl70 before your 60 is hard for the average person, and there are less than a handful of "god" level professionals that have hit lvl90 in the world.

Well, that’s quite a long time then. Roughly what i can recall right now (if you are interested):The scourge staff hid its name as “Monarchs Scepter”. The gemstone who is supposed to be framed in it got split in five pieces (not sure if he already found all since I’m only at novel chapter ~1600 right now and the novel already is at 3485). Monarchs Scepter comes from Light Dungeon. There was also this other staff, the “creation staff”, which was also damaged. It was made out of one of antares scales. Lin Moyu restored it with the dragon crystals he got from wiping out the draogn clan in the small world and then left it behind for the god of life to reborn through it. Though i do not quite remember where he obtained it. Might be in one of the Dungeon Halls Elemental Dungeons.

in the novel he has 40x amplification by now. (increases by 10x every 10 levels). It is kinda necessary because his summons base stats are rather bad and also he wouldn't be able to fight much higher level people otherwise.
Also he might seem strong now because he can bridge like 20 levels (that's because the stats difference in lower levels is rather small), but that gap will gradually grow smaller since in higher levels the stats grow almost exponentially.
