He doesn’t tho…. that’s just for the memories of the sword. He’s used magic himself. He used it to get to the new world and to teleport around. He knows Blackie(the creature around his shop) is a magical entity with enough power to cross worlds and he can tell its weaker at the start and getting stronger. Mc is being dense for no reason

well for one he’s from earth where magic doesn’t exist so he’s skeptical about it existing despite being brought there magically he probably thinks that it’s just his case plus the majority of the public in this story doesn’t know magic is real so why would he not believe that magic doesn’t exist, and he hasn’t left his bookshop very much so he doesn’t know a lot about the world like the races. As for why he doesn’t clue in about the witch teaching him magic and sword skills idk.
He literally used a spell to get to this world and has his spirit who knows is magic and uses portals for him. Both words have magic and MC is just being unnecessarily dense at this point
