That’s like saying 200 cars side by side failed to run over a crowd of 400 right in front of them.
That is actually more “realistic” to frame. The orcs are massive and physically superior. That one orc just threw a quick spear and completely decapitated that horse, pretty much exploding its neck from the impact. Keeping them off guard instead of letting them regroup is how you keep the advantage. They only almost lost ONE person. Not a single other human body was on the ground. Attacking in rotations put panic on the orcs, wary of when the next attack would occur. It also allowed the soldiers, who have far less stamina than the orcs, respite and rotating attacks keeps them fresh. Your car analogy is horrible since it would be more like 200 cars running at 400 elephants. You would get your people killed.
