Nah. Eventhough I appreciate author to make this story where he slowly developing, but making him suddenly forget the academy after a long time make the story feel less interesting at some point. One month away from academy? Don’t you think it will be weird to not have something happened during that time? Didn’t earlier MC said he want to stop that fat guy to become the headmaster?
Agreed, Also, just pointlessly running away and leave his friend to be stressed out and take the fall for his selfish actions? It’s like they wanted to jump to a more interesting part, despite setting up the school arc themselves. It could’ve just been a private expedition by his friend, during their summer break, and the dean got news of it and weaseled his people in. Then MC does training arc, knowing he’s walking into trouble when he goes back to school.
