being able to just teleport to the safe destination vs going through a horde of pvp and monsters with a high chance of ambushes, the risk was too heavy for them to think of anything else. the obvious choice would be to just keep your own party members/guild best interest given that it is an ongoing war.
even self preservation would cause some to just think for themselves in the end.
It might be possible to made it, but it would not change the fact that there will be casualties. The vice leader of that clan only did what is the most effecient solution to lessen the damages ahead. Either way there would be sacrifices.
