Its actually a real thing called drafting, which uses the air pocket left behind of something moving in front of you to reduce the air resistance and save energy, and used usually with racecars and can even be used with bikes. Using it in running usually doesn’t give much advantage because a normal person doesn’t move fast enough for wind resistance to become a significant problem but we’ve been shown that the people here can reach very high speed so it might actually work, surprisingly enough
