I wouldn’t call this realistic. The intrigue shown under the second prince’s faction is at a point where any cursory investigation would shatter it but it’s somehow still a monolith with one duke holding all the authority and the two dukes sidelining the succession just to wipe out a minor house is ludicrous unless it was being used as a gambit by one to take out the other side… but it’s being presented as a stepping stone for both sides and with some parties citing it as justice for being lied to… Unless there was more behind the scenes showing for what’s pulling the strings on all sides this is just pointlessly throwing the MC house into drama to prolong the arc. And they can’t even just use the excuse of intel delay via travel time cause of the handy dandy scrying orbs.
