Woah! I like a proactive mc. I see different from the other commenter. For me this is a really good start. Had gripped me with intrigue already and he’s still in the info gathering phase. And why would a protag care about a stranger’s mother back from almost a hundred years ago? He’ll only care about his survival and his empire as a whole at this point, because it did show he cared being an emperor (whether he was good or bad at it, or if he cared about the common folks is debatable for the lack of context atm, I’m just pointing out what an emperor might mean for him as a character). But it doesn’t mean he won’t grow fond of the people important to the Ian of this era he’s in as he gets to know them. It’s just ch3. And, I’m excited about the political moves in this story. MC got the subtlety, decorum, and grace, but still have the back bone for a protagonist which I really love.
This start is a mess. We didn’t understand shit of his past life, but hey, he was an Emperor. However, he regresses in another body that we know even less about, to the point that not even the protagonist cares about his mother because he lacks memories too… I mean… What the hell…? He went from a royal blooded Emperor to a nobody cliche bastard?
