This whole time we literally been seeing how he looks at these people and thinks about the situation yet NO ONE actually understands? I dont know how many stories I read where the reading comprehension and plot comprehension was so LOW in the comments with people complaining about plot armor or some other BS. Even though everything was set up and shown to be obvious use for a specific moment. READ the story, UNDERSTAND the characters, and LISTEN to what is being said. That is all I can say.

the heart magic is only tied to the Lou family. Due to them being tied to his past body and now are safe/he just does what is needed for them he doesn’t get effected by it. As since he stated he would help the lou family become the strongest he hasnt felt anything with the heart magic since what he does is for them and not against them anymore. As he accepted his place and role which he uses to get stronger and get through situations in the world. His EGO and PRIDE is literally the foundation for most of his decisions as he is a demonic cultivator. Plus didnt we read the same story and everything that lead up to this point. Yall just want the story to fit youre ideals. children.
