This, my friends, is what I like to call a “soft reset.” Every cultivation manhua, without fail, eventually has the MC grow too famous and too strong, which ends most of the conflict. That’s why they always move to another land where they don’t really know anyone, and where most people, if any at all, don’t recognize them.
That way, the story can start the whole “rise to power and fame” cycle again.
what ur describing is what was supposed to happen at the end of tianyu arc, leaving tianyu for the “big three sects”.
at the “end” of the arc, etheral stage was introduced and mc being only being in the Heavenly stage at the time is what u described : move to a new land with no one knowing mc and introducing new power level.
after the tournament, we know that mc is in radian stage and can easily fight 1 level above his (etheral) and that with his sword he can kill soul harmony (2 level above his cultivation stage)
so right now, we are coming back to an already “useless” power level (radian stage) being a powerhouse.
yes mc is not be as famed (the prince know him so might not even be true) and with his power level, there is no way to make mc sweat… or we keep seeing soul harmony opponent but that would make no sens since we the war established that Quanrong Kingdom shouldnt have anyone above etheral
was he not profung realm 5 after he had *snusnu* with chuchu after their weding night?
and as he got ambushed later on the road he was still profundream 5, the only reason he kuld kill the etheral realm ones was becouse the sword.
yes he could fight 1 realm and some stepps above his realms in the turnament, but the guys he fought in the turnament where geniuses, peak geniuses of their sects who themself could fight some stepps above their own level…..exept you know who, the little halflizard could beat maybe a eteral stage beginner, what means, if mc used his full power, he could maybe fight an etheral realm beginner, but in the ambush they where 8.
i guess his radiant stage 8 now is the result of the dragonflame that the old lizard used to safe him. damn, what a jump, a whole realm and some stepps, now he could beat the 8 eteral realms without his sword to a pulp and fight maybe a beginner one of the next realm after etheral realm.
I mean you paint it as a bad thing here, but he’s out on a mission to place arrays and you can’t really bring all your buddies since it would make too much of a commotion. It doesn’t feel forced compared to some other manhuas where the MC just leaves because he wants to.
It makes sense actually, he’s currently in a region within the empires and it would be weird as fuck if there suddenly were an abundance of ethereal or soul harmony experts walking around. the guardian sect of the quanrong empire is a different story from the empire itself.
