to me its more so the internal struggle i always talked about with zhou fan, he isnt zhou yifan yet he still wants to be exactly that as he has his pride and ego. Its complex to explain the relationship. But more so zhou fan is zhou yifan yet isnt, like yin and yang that is always brought out. He changed due to coming to learning and being with certain relations, his thinking became more open to letting people hold him, as in allowing himself to care about people to the point his actions depend on their safety. But he still has the ego, pride, and experience of zhou yifan, the mind and shrewdness. For someone to be like one person, its hard to fundamentally internally acknowledge that change inside yourself and rediscover who you are vs who you were. even if its slight. We humans do have the same problems as well. As we get older, we only remember the memories of childhood not who we were or what we were. Because our ego develops overtime. As i said its complex but zhou fan is having the same problem as well.
