all i can guess is that like he said before he wants the yuwen clan to keep the crown and wont lose his empire. he’s trying to pave a way for his son, but it depends on which is to get crown, so he’s trying to set them up for the future with a great prime minister and people around them to make sure his seat/clean is still up and powerful. I feel for an emperor in this position, its almost like his sons are untrustworthy. well the second one for sure, everyone is thinking about using his arrogance and brashness. First prince is kinda like Yunhai, and good for the people but also like Yunhai where he has too much righteousness. third son…. smart but yk. Idk I wonder if im correct.
