Tbf mana is the best choice he has the strong attack which the more mana you put the stronger the attack becomes and i think there will be other skills where defense increase by putting more mana.. So his choice is the best

It was also stated around 1-3 chapters ago that you could go down a floor and if you come back up the rewards would be reduced by 1/5th that means you could aswell climb back to the first floor.
