If the MC and his team don’t level the field somehow, they will always be on their back foot, chasing others like headless chicken. Author is forcing this too much. A guy can control other people’s minds, but MC and his team never attempted to put a bullet in his head. Instead, MC has to defeat his army of minions over and over and over and over and ooooooooooooooover again…
