Did you forgot MC gave Hei Ting his “Basic Attack” technique? Plus Hei Ting shadow is multiple time stronger than him, unless he can “conquer” his own shadow he won’t progress further.
I feel like it’s the Lu Chao Ge’s fault for not teaching his disciple anything special like a sword technique. I mean I get it that he has different constitution and all but even after the soul jade absorptio, he neither asked the little ghost about it nor asked for any technique to sword or other things like assassination skills etc. Basically he ignored his own disciple and only focused on himself.
