If you were to go by the logic of Patricia C. Wrede’s dragons in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Dragon King and Dragon Queen are the titles for two very different jobs. By the end of the first book, the female dragon Kazul is made Dragon King, but the previous Dragon Queen, a male dragon whose name I can’t remember, died before the story began.
Why haven’s we seen any single male dragon yet? Or do they have matriarchy (we still don’t know how did this woman got a king title, maybe before her a male ruler used to rule dragons)? Or do male dragons prefer not to change into humans?
Why do you keep calling female dragon rulers as “kings”? Is a “queen” title not prestigeous?
“No way this badass monster is a girl” plot twist does not work anymore, we already have tons of badass-designed female dragons and other non-humans.
