Are you reading the story bro? He pretty much threatened the MC. He told him about the secret, just in case he didn’t know it, and told him he was tasked of taking out EVERYONE who knew. That includes MC’s dad. He told MC so he would now be a target, and would be killed if he didn’t join with him. MC’s Dad isn’t gonna retaliate because the Empire is obviously trying to provoke them. Keeping up the pretense that nothing is wrong, keeps them safe because the public would sour on the Empire if they just attacked. They spelled that much out. They’re targeting MC because he’s his dad’s weak point. He and MC are already plotting to take down the Empire, but they’re not ready yet. This is like the major plot point right now.
