why shameful? its as if you would say that armys should fight under the same conditions, like same weapons, same amount of soldiers and so. that is something that will never happen.
lets take the middle ages, knights, ppl who where trained to fight and kill, where used mostly to kill untrainded countrymen. or the wars, the bigger and better equiced your army was, the greater your winning chances. or now, more advanced higher viktory chances.
not convinced? all right, lets take zivilian live, if you are rich and send your kid to expensive schools, he has a much higher chance to get a damn well paid job, even if his schoolscores are worse than athers.
fairness and equality is bullshit, for that every beeing had to look the same, have to be as fast as the athers, has to be as smart as the athers, has to be born under the same circumstances, and so on. there is no such shit in reallive.
