@Lorisor I think you lie, you wrote a whole piece saying why the character is still narrow, well the problem with slops like this is that there are definitely some shades of narrowness.
the problem is you try to hide the fact that you still want to him to be a simp behind large words, because if you say he is a mindless conqueror then that’s a lie
1) you can clearly see how he treats his subjects, and his military aids
not willing to see any of them die a meaningless death
it is clearly shown in this chapter, mindless is clearly not one of his problem
your actual issue is the fact that he didn’t just casually help the flower of Florence or whatever, cos deep down you still want them to be together
Damn bro clocked u hard and left no crumbs I believe there is some truth to what the both of you said ,I am rereading so I think the story would have been much better with filller like chapter showing how characters and mc to interact with each other which would have giving more life to the characters definitely fills a bit bland but that’s what I signed up and I think the mc is realistic depiction of feudal lords cause there weren’t all rainbows and sunshine’s they way mangas and manhwas depicted them most conqueres were self centered ,egotistical and afraid of getting eaten alive in a time where war could be at you doorstep at any moment so they became conqueres before they became conquered in the end it,I think when authors make characters like these they should highlight the insecurities and fears ,these type of people have to make the characters seem more relatively in this one author didn’t really put much effort into that but it’s okay as i said I am rereading sh it’s definitely worth it
These are the protagonists that people love, but I have one major problem with them.
The characterization of the protagonist is foul, I’ll give him the coveted “Not a Simp” moniker but looking at him closer he’s not really all that 3Dimensional.
He’s really just a ruthless power seeker and I guess people really want that out of a character in a sea of backbone-less characters that forgive everybody and trust to easily.
So it feels like this author saw comments on other stories like this and figured he’d take away all the qualities of those characters and only use what’s left, so the longer this story goes on the more lifeless and boring this character becomes, because to me he becomes just as predictable as the characters that are too trusting, or are too nice, or who actually want to be in a reciprocal relationship with someone. So in an effort to do something different you’re basically doing the same thing with fewer or extra steps depending on how you look at it.
He has a one track mind that kind feels like it’s steamrolling the story at this point, I feel like I’m just being dragged along and like I said before it feels like the Author is just trying to avoid all the things people complain about in stories like this to it’s own detriment.
