The story was good but the I hate the characters both the Mc and the Fml. The Mc is quite doing kind hearted type hero while the fmc is useless baggage who always tag along with the mc. I can see some character development but it's pretty cliche. The white haired boy is the only rational guy I've seen so far. Take note that the fmc is always useless at all. She keeps making trouble to the mc 😡. She knows it but she's still doing it for the sake of stopping her trauma 🙄. The author really put some romance the middle of intense story. For the sake of the so called 'power of companionship"

No the Mc is not smart and the current situation have been forced. The situation the Mc was put in was not a hard situation at all. When he stated he feels like he's losing himself when close to death like that, it seemed pretty clear that he was referring to the trance like state he was in when he killed that super strong monster with the female figure which he doesn't remember because he blacked out during that process. He doesn't know the exact reason but he has a subconscious fear of that state of bloodlust and killing humans would bring him closer to it which is why he avoided killing them in that moment.
