In Prussia, Fredrick the gate found out that potatos are edible but couldn’t convince his people to eat them, so instead of continuing to advertise them he created a Guarded off garden that housed only potatoes and sent people in to steal them. Eventually the word spread that people were risking death and getting caught by the guards to eat the potato, so instead of people unwanted people began coveting potatoes.
