You know… I’ve never really liked stories where the MC hides their power just for the sake of hiding it, with no proper reasoning behind it. This story is just that, but with the twist that MC will die if he reveals it… But then there comes the question as to what counts as revealing it? Does it only count when he reveals 100% of his power? 10%? Or is it more so the perceptions of those around him? If someone perceives him as strong then does he die? That doesn’t really seem to be the case since his teacher believes that he has more talent in magic than everyone around him. Just what counts as him revealing his power?
The logic just gets more and more twisted. This concept also makes for so many moments where you’re just itching for MC to just punch people in the face and destroy them, but you know he just isn’t going to. There also will never be that satisfying moment where MC will reveal everything and take the prize. I personally don’t really get why you would take a gimmick that is so frustrating when overdone/prolonged, and make it the entire story.
