It constantly amazes me how incredibly bad people are at communication in real life. You can tell them facts and statistics and they’ll just ignore you and believe whatever they want.
Well, art imitates life. In life, spoken words are the absolute smallest part of communication. Tone, body language, expressiveness, these are the lion’s share of communication. On top of that, they are the natural forms of communication. Words are man made, and adopted. We’re now in an age where, not only are people constantly trying to change the meaning of words, but there is much less actual interaction, only the exchange of words. So a lot is lost. Case in point, reading this might come across as condescending. However, I just read both your comments and thought, “Yeah, that’s a good point.” Then actually pondered it for a bit as to why that’s the case. So my tone while typing this is more, “I never thought of that! Do you think this could be the reason?!” Since it’s a serious thought, on my part, though, I try not to use slang, hoping to be clear in my communication. In person, that would be no problem. Reading the words? It sounds oddly mechanical, doesn’t?

Oh boy another arc that is upheld almost entirely by people being unable to communicate properly. Joy.
