What a pointless and entirely unnecessary conflict. MC KNOWS this dude is less than dirt and still allows this to play out to a point where he’s at a disadvantage for the sake of the plot drama. There is zero need to engage or justify actions because the hypocrite already came to judgement in the first place and will not see reason…. but… again… the MC already knows that’s the type of person this is
